This utility will calculate the block size for a give desired pitch, blade width, and diameter of a propeller...

The calculations allow an additional amount to be entered to the diameter and width of the propeller... This is due to the nature of a pitch block, in that the carved block will normally need area larger than the actual diameter and width of the propeller blades...

A good guideline would be to add at least an inch to the final prop diameter, and 25% to the width of the actual blade...

The calculations are based on the following formula:

P = 2pi * L * T / W

Where:
  P = Pitch of propeller
  L = Length of block
  T = Thickness of block (height)
  W = Width of block


Propeller Pitch: (propeller pitch in inches)
Propeller Diameter: (propeller diameter in inches)
Propeller Blade Width: (propeller blade width in inches)
 
Diameter Adjustment: (diameter adjustment in inches)
Width Adjustment: (width adjustment in inches)
 
Block measurements for a propeller with a Pitch of 22, Diameter of 12, and Blade width of 1.5 (with added adjustments):
