You can also calibrate the torque meter via one of the available methods to
get accurate readings that can be compared to others torque meters.
The calculations are based on a torque wire < .032 inches, based on the following
formula:
C * T * L
a = -------------
D**4 * G
Where:
a = angle of pointer deflection in degrees
C = constant: 36.5
T = torque in inch-ounces
L = length of the music wire torsional element in inches
D = diameter of the music wire torsional element in inches
G = torsional Modulus of Elasticity for music wire in pounds/square inch
(for music wire up to .032 inch diameter = 12,000,000)
